  • Happy (Overcoming) New Year

With this, I am sending you prayers for the best year you have ever experienced.

    In 2009, may you:

    1. Daily find that secret place of peace deep inside to be alone with YHVH God.
    2. Hear YHVH God speak to you every day.
    3. Discover an abundance of truth from the Word - more multiplied in abundance than you ever have before in your life.
    4. Chase after YHVH God with a passion that you never imagined was possible before.
    5. Daily tap into the strength of the Word and the Holy Spirit that enable you to live a life free from sin. (Can't do it on your own strength.)
    6. Move to a higher level with YHVH God than you had ever previously imagined.
    7. Pursue a relationship of excellence with YHVH God that astounds even you.

    Philippians 3:13-14
No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.

This is the nature of the High Calling. To achieve the high calling, we must forget the past and focus our energies on the Word, prayer and worship. This is of the utmost importance. There is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING you can do that is more important than this.

I wanted to leave you with an important Word at the end of 2008 and looking into 2009:

I am typically not one to talk about the future, but there are things coming that will "separate the men from the boys" spiritually speaking. On the one hand, there will be great, astounding, amazing miracles. On the other hand, there will be people fall from grace. There may be more scandals, there may not. Persecution of Christianity will likely increase. If only I had time to tell you about all the different things I'm hearing about on several fronts.

Anyway, the point is that we are to focus on overcoming with our faith. Anything, I repeat, ANYTHING that you let slide in your life will turn into a festering sore that will not leave you alone. The Bible tells us that only those who OVERCOME with their faith get to enter into the joy of the Lord. (Parable of the talents, Matt 25:14-30 - I recommend reading it.) It's not often heard, but the Father requires overcoming faith, faith with excellence. Why? The answer has many aspects to it, yet the answer is very simple:

    1. YHVH God is an overcomer. If He were not, there would be no plan of salvation.
    2. We are to be like Him if we are to be with Him in eternity (fortunately for us, we get use His strength to be like Him, not ours).
    3. Spiritual outlaws cannot be permitted in heaven - for anything permitted, grows. This is the great deception the enemy uses on mankind to get them to think that compromise is OK.  Newsflash - compromise is NOT OK.

Here is the Word from Revelation to underscore the importance of using our faith to overcome:

Revelation 2:7  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

Revelation 2:11  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death.

Revelation 2:17  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.

Revelation 2:26-29  To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations--
        'He will rule them with an iron scepter;
he will dash them to pieces like pottery'-- just as I have received authority from my Father.
I will also give him the morning star.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 3:5-6  He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 3:12-13  Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 3:21-22  To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Revelation 17:14  They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.

Revelation 21:2-8  I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.
3  And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
4  He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
5  He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."
6  He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.
7  He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
8  But the cowardly [fearful], the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

There is a very obvious pattern to all this. In Revelation 2 & 3, churches are being admonished [scolded] for compromising, yet the reward for overcoming is always mentioned in each instance. The spirit spoke the word of admonition to 7 churches, and there are 7 places where the words "to him that overcomes" is used. That's not a coincidence.

Then Revelation 17 speaks of when the Lamb [Jesus, Yeshua] will overcome the enemies of the beast. This is one of many examples of our Savior being an overcomer.

Finally, Revelation 21 speaks of the glorious day when the new Jerusalem settles on the earth to stay. God moves in with man. Just imagine that. Dwell on it for a loooonnnngggg time......................

Now that you've thought about it, consider that it is only the overcomers mentioned in verse 7 who inherit this Holy Kingdom. Verse 8 mentions those who don't. Plain as day. No minced words.

So I ask, which crowd do you want to be in?
